◎简 介
本片是以地球人与瓦肯人的“第一类接触”事件为背景，将重心放在《星际迷航之下一代》电视系列剧中的大敌『博格人』。 企业号正在宇宙空间做例行巡航时，舰长皮卡特接到密电，称博格人已联合其他星系的力量，准备向地球发起攻击。由于舰长皮卡特曾受敌方俘虏并同化，星际舰队对其不很信任，故没有派其出战。皮卡特不顾命令，仍然参与战斗，之后企业号跟随博格人的时间漩涡回到21世纪，以阻挡博格人试图改变人类的外星发展史达到征服地球的企图。
