◎简 介
退休炸弹专家佩恩（丹尼斯•霍珀 Dennis Hopper 饰）因不满政府的退休政策，产生了报复社会的念头。他先是在电梯里安装炸弹，劫持人质勒索100万美元赎金，但被特警杰克（基努•李维斯 Keanu Reeves 饰）拆除了炸弹，救出了人质。佩恩趁乱逃脱。 一计不成，佩恩并没有放弃，他继续他疯狂的计划。这次他炸毁了一辆公车，并在另一辆公车上安装了炸弹，只要该公车的时速超过了50英里就不能再减速，否则就会引起爆炸。当杰克赶上这辆公车时，公车已经满载乘客行驶在高速公路上，时速也早已过了50英里。 杰克是俗称的“胆生毛”，他冒险上了公车，和佩恩之间的生死时速开始了。
